Tea As Medicine

January is national tea month. For many tea is a refreshment and it is. Precolonial Africans drank tea as refreshment and they drink tea for its medicinal properties too. For example people in Southern Africa made tea from the leaves of the adiantum aethiopicum fern. Tea from that plant cured chest colds and infections in the chest area one’s body.
