Victory Gardens Part 2

Gardening, Georgia, 1924, Courtesy of The New York Public Library

Join me as I rift on what a modern day victory garden would look like. I’m thinking someone take the initiative to organize teams of five people with one designated captain. One could create a virtual calendar and a hard copy posted in the neighborhood public library that designates the tasks that need to be done in the garden. Tax relief could be given to people willing to allow relief gardens on their private property. Public and or private funds could provide local residents with gardening seed, composted soil, fencing, gardening tools, training, and kitchen facilities for making soup and canning produce.
