Cafeteria Food

Shaw Hall Where We University Athletes ate

I spent my first year at Syracuse adjusting to the school, all you could eat food and no dishes in the cafeterias, and, my new teammates. Most of us student athletes ate at Shaw Hall because it was closer to the field house than the other cafeterias and the easiest to reach following practice. Because it was the unofficial athletes dining all, many of the best looking girls on campus ate lunch at Shaw. I remember grits and eggs at breakfast and fried chicken and hot dinner rolls with butter at lunch and dinner. I also recall the Belgium waffles and the ice cream. I did serious damage to the pistachio ice cream. As a junior college transfer who practically starved for two years, I never complained about the cafeteria food.
