Teaching Farming and More

By 2000, Growing Power (GP) renovated its farm and greenhouses in order to grow food and train its young participants about composting, growing produce, and canning it. GP became as a training center/school for neighborhood children. The farm provided unanticipated educational impact because in the process of learning how to farm, the children in the program gained instruction in reading, writing, public speaking, culinary skills like canning, and the ABCs of entrepreneurship.
