Garlic and Ginseng

From 1971 to 1972 Dr. Alvenia Fulton (1893-1999) wrote a column for the Chicago Defender called “Eating for Your Health and Strength.” Here’s what she had to say about garlic and ginseng. Taken with Vitamin C, garlic is an antiseptic. In tablet form, it relieves gastric disorders and stimulates intestinal juices, which improves one’s digestion. It is equally helpful in preventing and curing respiratory infections due to colds and helps to relieve flatulence, dyspepsia, and colic. Garlic is also great for reducing certain kinds of hypertension. Take it as pills, which are almost odorless. Ginseng taken as a tea, juiced with fruits, or in another beverage is far better energizer than the unhealthy products companies market to college students and athletes today. In addition, ginseng can provide a boost to your sexual performance.
