Our current economic down turn and high employment numbers has Inspired to do some eating and desperate time stories. Here’s a story from sources on West Africa I found and saved almost two decades ago when researching and writing the book Hog and Hominy. On the sea shore I saw two species of conch weighing about five or six pounds. The local broil and preserve it for times of famine. It’s tough and bland, yet a great relief when one is desperate for something to eat. Michel Adanson, 1759
