Cortland State University Alum and Hall of Famer Jimmy Burke is a native of Huntington, New York. Burke helped Cortland State win a 1975 national championship. His individual honors include three time collegiate All-American, all club selection with Long Island Lacrosse club which one six championships during his tenure with the team, three national team selections in 1982, 1986 and 1990,   Burke also served as a captain of his college team and the 1986 US national team. In 1986, he earned an All-World Team selection and was voted Outstanding Defenseman. In 1991, he won the Krongard Trophy for his contributions to the game as an active club player.
